We can import data from an external source, but there are a few guidelines you need to follow so we can do the procedure in a timely manner.

Before getting started on your file, please note that there are certain data types that we cannot import.

These are:

  • Shopper data
  • Scheduler data
  • Reviewer data
  • Individual answer scores and sectional scores, as these will get calculated based on how your survey is set up in Sassie.

Here are some guidelines for you to prepare the data, and attached is an example template for you.

  • Each row is one shop.
  • Each column is one question.
  • Column headers are Sassie question IDs.
  • Headers in the first row are used by the importer, you may use the second row for your own reference, the importer will ignore row 2.
  • First column is Location's ID. This must match with what's in Sassie (UserLocID).
  • Shop date (question 1), and any other date fields should be formatted either in MM/DD/YYYY, or DD/MM/YYYY format. Please note which format you have used in the tracker.
  •  Any time of day values should be in h:mm:ss AM/PM format.
  • Time Length values can be in seconds or minutes, but let us know which so that the import is set accordingly.
  • Any currency values should NOT include commas as a separator.
  • Multiple choice questions or multi-check questions can be entered as either the response order number (numeric : first answer option as 1, second option as 2, etc.), or the response text *exactly* as it is entered in Sassie.
  • Multi-check question responses should be carat delimited, for example if options 1, 3, and 5 were selected, in the import file that would look like this for that cell: 1^3^5 (or the exact text value options separated by carats ^ )

After import, the shops will be need to be recalculated in order to populate any data into the Dragon Dashboard. If you preferred us not to recalculate the shops, please make note of that in your request.

We will also need to know which survey you want to import to, what shop status you want them in (one status for the whole batch) and which shopper account to assign the imported shops to. For instance, we could use a *Test Shopper, or you can set up an account such as *Historical Shopper, but we do need you to tell us the Shopper ID to assign the imported shops to.

You will need to import, or make sure, all the locations for the client the survey belongs to are in Sassie before we can continue with the import process.

Please make sure to not include any newlines or tabs in the Excel file. The file should only contain the data you want imported, without any characters that might cause issues.
