Once you have your test created, it is time to add some questions to it.

The process is the same as adding questions to a survey!

The Sections column will display the sections a question has been assigned to, while the Misc column will have the info about special question scoring or special requirements.

To add a question, use the dropdown above the question list. You will be able to select from a myriad of question types, and then simply use the Add button.

This will open a Question Administration window, allowing you to edit the details of your question.

In this window, you can edit the answer requirements, scoring, visibility and formatting, as well as assign the question to a section. Opposed to the question you would add to the survey, this window also offers a checkbox that will enforce the rule that the shopper must get the question right to pass the test.

One big difference between adding questions to a test, and a normal survey, is in the Page Break question type.

A page can be declared an introductory page, and they are typically used to provide shoppers with relevant information (such as links, images, or text) before they begin a test. An introductory page is not displayed to the Graders.

The introductory page may not include answerable questions and is for informational purposes only!

If you declare a page a NOT an introductory page, you can also configure the number of questions that you want displayed on the page. This subset is randomly selected for each test submission, but the number of questions contained on the page must exceed that number to be displayed. In other words, to randomly select 4 questions, you need to have at least 5 questions in the question list.

The questions will always display in the same order, and the Must Get Right questions will always be displayed!

The system keeps track of the questions displayed to the shopper, so if they return to the page with the 'random' questions, the same set of questions they have already seen will be displayed to them.

Adding a not introductory page break question type will update the question list, ensuring that you can tell the number of the set questions that will be displayed at a glance.

Keep note of the Question Tracking!

Because the questions that a shopper sees may be randomly selected, and questions may be deactivated after a shopper completes a test, the exact set of questions a shopper has viewed is tracked for each submission. Each subsequent time a submission is viewed, those questions and only those questions are re-displayed.

Once the questions have been added to the test, you can use the Action column options to edit, deactivate or delete questions.

Because the questions are tracked, it is not possible to simply delete a question that a shopper has seen. In that case, you can deactivate a question so they will not be displayed on any future tests until reactivated.
