The Test Log page displays test submissions.

Remember to select the Test Name and hit the GO button to list all tests that have been taken!

The search tool works like the Admin Logs page. You can filter by the test ID, submission date, shopper name and e-mail, test status, and scores.

Possible statuses are:

Incomplete

A submission that a shopper is in the process of taking.

These types of submissions are not editable by Graders.

Completed

A submission that a shopper has filed out in its entirety, but has not yet submitted for grading.

Complete submissions are not editable by Graders.

Submitted

A submission that a shopper has completed and submitted for grading, but does not yet have a grade.

Submissions in this status are not accessible to shoppers.

Hold A and Hold B

A submission that a Grader has put aside temporarily.

Submissions in these statuses do not have grades, and are not accessible to shoppers.

Graded

A submission that has been given a grade, either automatically or manually, by a Grader.

Submissions in this status are not accessible to shoppers.

Excluded

A submission that has been discarded.

Excluded submissions do not have a grade and may or may not count against a shopper when it comes to future attempts at the test. Submissions in this status are not accessible to shoppers. Excluded submissions are not billed for.

When the shopper submits a test for grading, if the setting for the test is set to manual grading, an admin will be able to use the Grade Test link to perform that task.

Once a test has been graded, automatically or by an admin (depending on the test settings), the score column will display the score the shopper got as well as a note did they pass or fail the test. An admin will be able to use the Re-Grade Test link to regrade the test.

On the other hand, if the shopper has done the test but has not yet submitted it for grading, the page will only display the current score. Since that test has not yet been graded (note the dash symbol in the Fail/Pass column!), it can only be Viewed but not Re-Graded!

Grading the tests

Using the Grade Test link or the Re-Grade Test link will open an Admin Test View window.

An admin grading the test will be unable to change the shopper answers. However, they will be able to change the answers to administration-only questions.

For instance, if the test has been deemed as too difficult and unacceptably large percentage of shoppers are failing it, the grades can be changes in order to scale the submissions.

The top left side of the page lists shopper info, the date, and time when the shopper took the test, as well as how many attempts they have used, of how many permitted. You can edit the amount of attempts in the test settings.

The right side of the top of the page displays the test status, the shopper's final score, as well as the minimal passing score for this test. Remember, you can edit the minimal passing score in the test settings!

Any qualifications connected to the test will be also be listed. You can add, or remove, qualifications in the Qualification Administration part of the TestCaster.

If a shopper has taken multiple shots at the test, the Final score will display the latest attempt, while the First score will display the grade of the first time they have attempted to finish the test. If they have taken the test only once, the scores will be the same.

Below the First and Final scores, you are able to quickly check the scoring of the sections.

The last line in the right column will give you an idea of the difficulty of the test, displaying the average score of all the submissions.

The middle section of the Grading page will display a list of questions and the shopper's answers.

Due to an error label, you are able to easily spot answers that have not been answered correctly!

The Grader Control section can look quite different depending on the status of the test.

If the test has not yet been graded, there will be a few statuses you can select in the Status dropdown: Submitted, Hold A, Hold B, Graded and Excluded.

Setting the status to Graded will unblock the Pass/Fail dropdown, allowing you to manually select one of the options. If you do not want to use the Default option, which will check the question scoring and determine the outcome, you can set the status of the test to Pass or Fail regardless of the score.

However, if the test has been graded once before, only two statuses will be available in the Status dropdown: Graded or Excluded.

Test submissions places in the Excluded status cannot be removed from that status!

The Grading History section displays the name of the grader, final status of the test and the time of the grading. If the test is set to auto grading in the test settings, the name of the grader will be replaced by the word Auto.

The Email Shopper section allows you to reach out to the shopper if you wish so. Make sure to enter your e-mail in the From field, while the TO field will have the shoppers e-mail by default. You can decide do you want to add any comments to the shopper's score, send only the comments to them, or not send anything at all.

On the same note, the Private Comments field allows you to add notes to the test, while the ADD A SHOPPER CITATION link will open a new window, ensuring that you can add a shopper citation as well.

If a test has been previously graded, that will be noted below the e-mail option.

Once you are satisfied with your selection, simply use the SUBMIT GRADING button at the bottom of the page!

Export tests

The Test Log page also allows you to export the tests that have been started, including the unfinished ones.

You can use the filtering bar to download only the types of tests you need. Simply click the Export button, and after the export has been generated, use the Download Export link.

If you have a newer version of Excel or a software like that, you should be able to double-click the downloaded file. Otherwise, revisit the How can I open a .sass file? article.
